For customers who have multiple offices with telephone systems at each site, Go Connect Federation allows multiple Go Connect servers to be inter-connected (or "federated"). These connected Go Connect Servers allows geographically separate sites to share presence and chat data (although the "shared" address book remains unique to each server).
Federation of Go Connect servers provides a very similar end user experience to Go Connect Site, but Federation is better suited to environments where a lower quality of network connectivity exists between the various sites. If the connectivity between the sites is interrupted, users on a Federated system will still have access to Go Connect functionality.
