The optional Services license enables the MiVoice 5607 Wireless Phone user to interact with applications in a very sophisticated manner. An application can take control of the phone’s display, including the softkeys, such that specific options and actions are presented in conjunction with other information, making the user effectively interactive with the application. For example, information from production processes such as the operating temperature of machinery can be sent to the handset; this can be remotely monitored and alarms programmed to notify supervisors, who have the ability to shut the machinery down or reduce its temperature.
